Synigent is searching for a General Ledger Accountant for our client in the Lynchburg, VA area.

Our client is expanding our Finance Team to meet the rising needs of the community. This position is one of two General Ledger (GL) Accountants. The GL Accountant is responsible for all accounting functions and tasks related to general ledger system, including preparing journal entries, reconciling financial statements and accounts, and ensuring data accuracy. The GL Accountant performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions with significant focus on general ledger accounting. This position is also responsible for key activities such as Month-End close, Year End close, Account Reconciliations and Audit support.

Key requirements
  • BA degree in Accounting/Finance or related
  • 1-3 years experience in General Ledger Accounting
  • Ability to perform month end closing and reconciliations
  • Experience work with external auditors and able to generate reports
  • Experience preparing journal entries for accruals and variances
  • Ability to create 13 week cash flow statements
