Manager, Digital Platforms and Cloud Architecture
Hybrid | West End of Richmond, VA
Our client is seeking a Manager, Digital Platforms and Cloud Architecture to lead the evolution of modern, cloud-based digital platforms. This is a hands-on IT leadership role responsible for cloud strategy, platform stability, and modernizing legacy systems into scalable, secure cloud solutions. The role partners closely with Digital, Cybersecurity, Audit, and IT teams to shape architecture roadmaps that support business growth.

Our client is seeking a Manager, Digital Platforms and Cloud Architecture to lead the evolution of modern, cloud-based digital platforms. This is a hands-on IT leadership role responsible for cloud strategy, platform stability, and modernizing legacy systems into scalable, secure cloud solutions. The role partners closely with Digital, Cybersecurity, Audit, and IT teams to shape architecture roadmaps that support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of cloud-based digital and eCommerce platforms with a focus on performance, scalability, security, and reliability
- Own cloud transformation initiatives, including legacy migrations and modernization (including serverless architectures)
- Serve as the solution architecture subject matter expert across integrations, secure development, and cloud/web platforms
- Establish and enforce architecture standards, best practices, and governance Drive technical assessments, solution design, and execution planning
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship while partnering cross-functionally to translate business needs into scalable solutions
- Partner with Cybersecurity and Audit teams to ensure security and risk alignment Support budgeting, vendor management, and cost-effective technology decisions
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience leading digital platforms and cloud-based solutions (eCommerce, headless commerce, microservices, payment integrations)
- 3+ years of technical leadership experience (direct or matrix) Strong background in solution architecture, cloud platforms, systems integration, and secure development
- Experience with cloud migration, modernization, serverless technologies, and security frameworks (e.g., NIST)
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business and executive stakeholders
