Full-Time | Direct Hire
Synigent Technologies is partnering with our client to identify a detail-oriented and forward-thinking Senior Revenue Accountant to join their Finance team in a hybrid role based in Glen Allen, VA. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, and offers excellent exposure across multiple areas of Finance.
As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Marketing while supporting contract review, variable consideration, COOP rebates, royalties, and key month-end close activities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys improving processes and strengthening controls.

As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Marketing while supporting contract review, variable consideration, COOP rebates, royalties, and key month-end close activities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys improving processes and strengthening controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret customer contracts to ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606
- Manage revenue-related reconciliations, accruals, COOP rebates, return/deduction reserves, guaranteed sales, and pricing validations
- Analyze appropriate accounting treatments for variable considerations, including discounts, rebates, penalties, and usage-based pricing
- Support monthly close activities, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements
- Partner with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Marketing to align on accounting impacts for COOP reserves and marketing programs
- Assist with audit activities and ensure compliance with SOX controls and internal accounting policies
- Participate in process improvements and help implement best practices in revenue accounting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s or CPA strongly preferred
- 5+ years of revenue accounting and general ledger experience, ideally within a mid-size or large public company
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles
- Experience with ERP systems, SOX compliance, and (ideally) SEC reporting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and large data sets
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
